Gabriela Demoner (Franklin Pierce/Vitoria, Brazil) has completed
her intercollegiate soccer career by claiming her fourth NSCAA
All-America selection with the announcement of the 2009 NCAA
women's Division II team.
Demoner is among 11 players on the 2009 squad who have received the
honor more than once. Her teammate, Angelika Johansson (Franklin
Pierce/Falkenberg, Sweden) earned her third selection. The College
of St. Rose, which had four players named to the team, had two
repeat selections. Amanda Deck (Cicero, N.Y.) and Katie Whiting
(Holden, Mass.) claimed their second awards, while teammates Kelly
Guerin (Sutton, Mass.) and Brittany Godin (Rochester, N.Y.) picked
up the award for the first time.
St. Rose shared team honors for most players named (four) with West
Florida, which was paced by sisters Shameka and Shaneka Gordon (Old
Harbour, Jamaica), who were repeat selections, along with teammates
Shakira Duncan (Kingston, Jamaica) and Marcela Franco (Sao Paulo,
Brazil). Franklin Pierce, Massachusetts-Lowell and national
champion Grand Valley State each had two players named.
The NSCAA All-America selections will be recognized at the annual
All-America Luncheon, held in Philadelphia, Pa., on Jan. 16 as part
of the 2010 NSCAA Convention.
