Metro State, Fort Lewis Rank High in NSCAA/adidas Pre-Season Poll

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- August 17, 2007 -- The Metropolitan State College of Denver Roadrunners women's soccer team and the Fort Lewis College Skyhawks men's soccer team received high rankings in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America/adidas pre-season poll.

The Roadrunners are the favorite in the NSCAA/adidas pre-season poll. Metro State is the defending NCAA Division II national champions. They finished last season with a 24-2-0 overall record and a 12-0-0 mark in league games. They are returning the 2007 RMAC Pre-season Defensive Player of the Year, Rachel Zollner (Lone Tree, Colo., senior).

The 2005 NCAA Division II men's soccer national champions and last year's runner-up, Fort Lewis is picked second in the top-25 national poll. They completed last season undefeated in league games (12-0-0) and 21-2-1 overall. Dowling College, which won the title last year, is the pre-season favorite.
