CSU-Pueblo Crowned 2008 RMAC SHOOTOUT Women's
Champions
Pueblo, Colo. -- March 8, 2008 -- CSU-Pueblo's
Lindsay Black, the 2008 RMAC SHOOTOUT Most Valuable Player, led the
Thunderwolves to a 70-54 victory over Nebraska-Kearney Saturday
night at the State Fair Events Center. Black tallied 17
points, nine rebounds, five blocks, three assists and two steals in
the championship game to help CSUP clinch a berth to the NCAA North
Central Regional.
Teammates Mary Rehfeld and Rachel Espinoza, who were also named
to the all-tournament team, posted 16 and 12 points each.
Nebraska-Kearney's Melissa Hinkley tabulated nine points and 13
rebounds for the Lopers. Eleven of her rebounds came on the
offensive end of the court. Amy Mathis notched her 10th
double-double of the season with 14 points and 16 rebounds.
CSUP shot 26 of 55 from the floor for 47.3 percent. The
Lopers weren't as solid in shooting as they netted 21 of 74 field
goals for 28.4 percent.
