Two RMAC Schools Listed on AVCA Pre-Season Poll

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- August 14, 2007 -- The University of Nebraska at Kearney and Mesa State College received votes on the 2007 CSTV/American Volleyball Coaches Association Division II Coaches Top 25 Poll.

Although neither team made the top 25 poll, the Lopers received 58 points while the Mavericks received six points. The 2006 NCAA Champion, Tampa, received 881 points and 29 first place votes to lead the pre-season poll.

Nebraska-Kearney is also the favorite to win the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference title, according to the league's pre-season poll. The Lopers, who shared the conference title last year with Western New Mexico with a 16-3 conference record (28-8 overall), received 10 first place votes. The poll is voted on by each of the 14 head coaches.

Mesa State finished last year with a 14-5 league mark and a 19-15 overall record. The Mavericks tied for third place last year with Metro State. Mesa State's Ashley Loftsgard (Grandby, Colo.) was also chosen as the RMAC Pre-Season Defensive Player of the Year.
