Three RMAC Teams Selected to NCAA Softball Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The NCAA announced the 2011 NCAA Division II Softball bracket this morning, and three Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference schools were selected to compete in two of the NCAA Central Regional Tournaments.  The sub-regional tournaments will take place May 13-15.  The winner from each central regional tournament will face each other in a best of three series May 20-21.

Regis (33-22) received an automatic bid after winning the 2011 RMAC championship tournament on Saturday.  The Rangers, who are making their fifth appearance in the NCAA Tournament, will face host school and Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference tournament champions, Augustana College (45-8).

Colorado Mines (36-22) is making their second appearance in the national tournament and will face Minnesota-Duluth (31-15).  The Orediggers will compete at Augustana College.

The second host school, Minnesota State-Manakato (48-12) will play host to Metro State (34-16).  The Roadrunners are playing in their third straight NCAA Tournament.

Games times at each location will be announced later today.
