Colorado Mines to Host RMAC Softball Championships

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado School of Mines has been selected to host the 2011 RMAC Softball Championships May 5-7 in Golden, Colo. The Orediggers lead the RMAC with a 23-8 (.742) conference record. 

CSM will host the tournament at the CSM softball field and Golden High School.  Game times at both fields on Thursday and Friday will be 10 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 3 p.m.  On Saturday at the CSM softball field, game times will be 11 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.  The complete bracket will be announced Sunday, May 1.

The RMAC is in the second year of a pilot program in which the host of the conference championship in softball is named two to three weeks in advance. The idea is to help participating schools plan for travel while allowing the host some time to get ready for the tournament.

The last time Colorado Mines hosted the RMAC softball championship tournament was in 2008.
