GOLDEN, Colo. – Annie Van Wetzinga has resigned her position as Head Softball Coach at Colorado School of Mines, as announced today by Director of Athletics Tom Spicer.

Van Wetzinga, who led Mines to a 101-64 mark during her three years (2008-10) guiding the Orediggers, has been named Head Softball Coach at Upper Iowa University.

Van Wetzinga led the Orediggers to three consecutive appearances in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Tournament during her time at CSM.  Van Wetzinga was named RMAC Softball Coach of the Year in 2008 when the Orediggers won the RMAC Regular-Season Championship.  In 2009, Van Wetzinga guided Mines to its first-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament when the Orediggers established single-season program records for overall victories (39) and conference wins (28).  Van Wetzinga also coached the CSM softball program’s first-ever All-Americans (Katie Kocman, Kaleigh Starr) during the 2009 season.

CSM will begin a national search for a new Head Softball Coach immediately.
