Fort Lewis Advances to NCAA Men's Soccer Championship Game

Tampa, Fla. - David Barden netted three goals and an assist in an 8-2 win Thursday afternoon over Le Moyne in the 2009 NCAA Men's Soccer Semifinal match at Pepin-Rood Stadium in Tampa, Fla.

Le Moyne's Angelo Reina gave his team a 1-0 lead 16 minutes into the game before Euan Purcell knotted the game six minutes later.  Barden scored the go-ahead goal on Tom Settle's assist at 37:52 to give the Skyhawks a 2-1 lead at the half.

Less than two minutes into the second half Barden posted his second goal of the game and the game-winning goal.  Purcell and Barden then added two more goals 35 seconds apart, giving FLC a four goal lead at the 50-minute mark.  Reina cut the lead to three goals at 59:00 before Settle recorded his third point of the game at 79:16.  Joe Barnd capped the game with back-to-back goals within four minutes of each other.

Fort Lewis will play Lees-McRae Saturday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. (ET).  The game can be viewed online at www.ncaa.com and live on television on CBS Sports.
