Skyhawks Claim 2009 NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Title

Tampa, Fla. - Fort Lewis' David Barden scored his fourth goal in two games and his second straight game-winning goal to lift the Skyhawks to their second NCAA Men's Soccer Championship Title.  Fort Lewis defeated Lees-McRae (18-3-2), 1-0, Saturday evening at Pepin Stadium in Tampa, Fla.

Barden found the back of the net in the 78^th minute off of Kyle Woods' assist.  The goal was Barden's 14^th of the season and his sixth game-winning goal this year.  Goalkeeper Zane Wells tallied two saves for his 13^th shutout of the season.

Fort Lewis out shot Lees-McRae 14-11 (7-3 shots on goal).

The Skyhawks, who won the NCAA title in 2005, finished their season on a 21 game winning streak and a 24-1 overall record.
