
Metro State’s Johnson Heads 2008 Daktronics All-Central Region

Colorado Springs, Colo. – Metropolitan State College of
Denver’s Kellen Johnson was voted the 2008 Daktronics
All-Central Region Player of the Year. Johnson, who was also named
the 2008 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Player of the Year, led
his team to a second place finish in the league and a berth to the
NCAA Tournament.
Metro State led the region with six selections. Colorado Mines,
CSU-Pueblo and Regis each recorded four representatives on the
first and second teams, while Fort Lewis had three players and
Upper Iowa notched two players on the all-region teams.
Fort Lewis and Metro State are the two participants from the
Central Region that will compete this weekend. They will face each
other on Thursday in the NCAA Men’s Soccer First Round.
Six of the 10 teams in the Central Region were represented on the
All-Central Region team. The region consists of Colorado Christian,
Colorado School of Mines, Colorado State-Pueblo, Fort Lewis, Mary,
Mesa State, Metro State, Regis, UC-Colorado Springs and Upper
Iowa.

voted on by the members of the College Sports Information Directors
of America (CoSIDA).
