NABC/Division II Men's Basketball Poll - Jan. 19, 2010

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - For the second consecutive week, a new team is ranked No. 1 in the NABC/Division II coaches poll for the first time in school history as Arkansas Tech has ascended to the top spot in the rankings.

Valdosta State - who is ranked eighth in this week's poll - upended previous No. 1 Augusta State 81-75 Saturday to allow Arkansas Tech to take over the top spot in the poll.  The 16-0 Wonder Boys are off to their best start in school history and will get their first test as the nation's top-ranked team Thursday when they play at Ouachita Baptist before hosting a red hot Delta State team Saturday.

The next four spots are all occupied by teams that moved up one spot as a result of the Augusta State loss, as Kutztown is ranked second, Minnesota State third, Southern Indiana fourth and Fort Hays State - which received one first place vote this week - at the No. 5 spot.  Augusta State fell to sixth this week and is followed by Central Missouri, Valdosta State, Indiana (Pa.) and Quincy.

Midwestern State dropped four spots to No. 11 after suffering its first loss last week, while Seattle Pacific follows in 12th.  Kentucky Wesleyan, Bentley and Western Washington fill the spots from Nos. 13 through 15, then Florida Southern comes in at No. 16 after a seven-spot drop over the last week.  Mesa State is ranked 17th this week and is followed by Montevallo, Drury and Rollins.

The final five teams in this week's rankings are West Virginia State, Metropolitan State - the lone newcomer in this week's poll - Augustana, Southwest Baptist and East Stroudsburg.

The NCAA will begin releasing its weekly regional rankings on Wednesday, Jan. 27.
