National Association of Basketball Coaches
NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Rankings
2009-10 Rankings - Dec. 15, 2009 (Ranking #4)

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Central Missouri won its only contest last week to retain the top spot in the new NABC/Division II coaches poll, but setbacks by three of the six teams that followed the Mules in last week's rankings have sent three new teams into the top 10.

Florida Southern moved up to No. 2, while Augusta State and Indiana (Pa.) also moved up a spot apiece to third and fourth, respectively, as a result of two losses last week by then-No. 2 Valdosta State.  The new No. 5 team this week is Arkansas Tech, reaching its highest ranking in school history after knocking off 11th-ranked Drury a week ago.

Seattle Pacific also made a six-spot jump in the poll to sixth this week, while Rollins moved up to seventh.  Kutztown retains the No. 8 position in the poll, while a trio of undefeated teams hold the next three spots with Minnesota State in ninth, Midwestern State in 10th and Southern Indiana at No. 11.

Drury dropped one spot to 12th after its loss to Arkansas Tech and is followed by two MIAA schools - Southwest Baptist and Fort Hays State - and Cal Poly Pomona.  Valdosta State fell to 16th this week, while Western Washington and Kentucky Wesleyan moved up to 17th and 18th.  BYU-Hawaii, the nation's top-ranked team two weeks ago, suffered a loss on a Saturday for the second week in a row (at Chaminade) last week and fell to 19th as a result, while Montevallo enters the rankings at No. 20 on the heels of a 9-0 start.

The final group is headed by Stonehill at No. 21, folllowed by Mesa State, Bentley, Quincy and two undefeated squads sharing the last spot in the rankings, West Chester and Stillman.
