Four RMAC Men's Basketball Teams Headed to NCAA Tournament
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The National Collegiate Athletic Association announced tonight its 64-team bracket for the 2010 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. Four RMAC teams earned bids to the tournament: No. 2 seed Mesa State (22-5), No. 5 seed Metro State (24-6), No. 6 seed New Mexico Highlands (20-10), and No. 8 seed Colorado Mines (17-11).
Minnesota State, Mankato (24-4) received the top seed and will host the NCAA Men's Basketball Central Region Tournament. They will play the Orediggers who are making their first ever NCAA Tournament appearance. The Mavericks will play seventh seed Winona State (20-9), while Metro State (24-6) will play fourth seed St. Cloud State (25-5). Both teams received the automatic bid after winning their conference tournament championships. The Cowboys, who are also playing in their first ever NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament, will play third seed Augustana (22-6).
Each regional champion will advance to the Elite Eight Tournament March 24, 25 and 27 at the MassMutual Center in Springfield, Mass.
