RMAC SHOOTOUT Championship Games Live on Altitude
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- March 7,
2009 -- For the fifth year in a row, Altitude Sports &
Entertainment, a network available in more than 5.75 million
households throughout the U.S., will broadcast the RMAC SHOOTOUT
basketball tournament championship games. Live coverage begins with
the women's title game between Colorado Mines and CSU-Pueblo at 6
p.m. on Saturday, March 7th. The men's championship featuring
Metro State and Fort Lewis follows at approximately 8:15
p.m.
The RMAC SHOOTOUT championships will be played at the Colorado
State Fair Events Center in Pueblo. The games will be re-broadcast
on Altitude, Sunday March 8th at 12:30 a.m. (men's final) and 3:30
a.m. (women's final).
Blake Olson will provide play-by-play for the men's championship game and will serve as sideline reporter for the women's title game. Olson is the Denver Nuggets studio host. He's been in that capacity for three years at Altitude.
The color commentator for both games will be Mark Randall a former Denver Nuggets player, who now works for Altitude in the studio, and the Nuggets in community relations roll. Randall played four seasons in the NBA, and was a first round pick of the Chicago Bulls in the 1991 draft.
The play-by-play announcer for the women's championship game will be Maya Starks. She will handle sideline duties for the men's championship as well. This is Starks first year at Altitude. Starks was a sports anchor/reporter in Raleigh, N.C., and is a former volleyball player from the University of North Carolina.
During the live broadcast, Altitude will air a special edition of the RMAC Showcase. This 30-minute episode will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the RMAC and will air after the RMAC women's basketball championship.
