UCCS Leads RMAC Men's Golf Championships After Two Rounds

LITCHFIELD PARK, ARIZ. --- The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs leads the 2011 RMAC Men's Golf Championship after two rounds by one shot over Fort Lewis College and three shots over the Colorado School of Mines and CSU-Pueblo.

The four schools will be paired together during the final round at the Wigwam Golf Resort. Action is scheduled to begin at 7:30 a.m. PDT.

UCCS is led by Chris Shoop, Brian Morfeld, Riley Andrews and Spencer Biersdorf, who all shot four under par 140.

The Mountain Lions are also looking for their fifth consecutive RMAC regular season championship and sixth straight conference title overall. They hold a one-point advantage in the team standings over Fort Lewis.

Gavin Lyons of the Skyhawks and Jim Knous of Colorado Mines are co-leaders at seven under par along with Adam Fields of Wayne State (Neb.). CSU-Pueblo's Chad Novak and Minnesota Crookston's Jake Sanders are one shot back.

Mesa State's Brandon Bingaman and Michael Lopez of Western New Mexico are tied with the quartet of UCCS golfers at three shots behind.
