Scott Hansen Named Mesa State College Women's Golf Coach

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. -- August 25, 2008 -- Scott Hansen has been named the new Head Women's Golf Coach at Mesa State College and will take over the program immediately for the fall 2008 season.
Hansen will take over the reign from Athletic Director Butch Miller who will concentrate on his athletic director duties full time. Miller was named the head women's golf coach in 2004 and under his guidance the team has set seven school records and numerous individual records. He was twice named Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Coach of the Year ('06-07, '07-08). Last season all five starters were named to the RMAC All-Academic team.
Hansen was elected a class "A" member of the PGA of America in 1990 and brings over 20 years of teaching and tournament experience to the Mavericks.
Scott has held golf professional positions at Camelback Golf Course in Phoenix, AZ, Springhouse Golf Course in Nashville, TN, and The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs.
He currently operates Hansen Bros. Golf & Hockey, a family owned business in Grand Junction.
Scott received his Bachelor's Degree in Business from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs in 1985 and played on the Men's Golf team.
Scott has two daughters, Landri (7) and Lauren (5).
