Mott and Meier Promoted at RMAC

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- July 2, 2008 -- Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Commissioner Joel R. Smith has announced that Sandee Mott has been promoted from Assistant Commissioner to Associate Commissioner and Sarah Meier has been promoted from Media Relations Director to Assistant Commissioner. The moves became official on July 1.

"Both Sandee and Sarah have gone way above and beyond their job descriptions," said Smith. "These promotions show how important they are to the entire conference. Their work ethic is superior, and I'm very happy to be making this announcement," said Smith.

Mott is entering her fourth year with the conference office. Her responsibilities include NCAA compliance, accounting, budgeting, internal office operations, overseeing the operations of the RMAC Officiating Website, working with the RMAC officiating coordinators and the Senior Woman Administrators, co-hosting the weekly radio show "This Week in the RMAC," assisting in the production and as a guest on the monthly television show the RMAC Showcase, and assisting in the RMAC Championships. She is currently on the NCAA Division II regional advisory committees for women's basketball, and men's and women's golf.

Prior to arriving at the RMAC, Mott served as the Western State College (Gunnison, Colo.) head women's basketball coach and Senior Woman Administrator for five seasons (2000-2005).

She earned a Bachelor's degree in English Education from Friends University in Wichita, KS, and then received her Master's degree in English from Fort Hays State University in 1996. Mott is working toward her Ed.D. (Doctorate of Education) in Sport Management and Leadership from Northcentral University.

Meier is now in her third year with the RMAC. Her responsibilities include website maintenance, weekly press releases, creating and producing publications for the RMAC, compiling and maintaining records, and updating and maintaining statistics.

She is currently on the NCAA Division II regional advisory committees for women's soccer, and men's tennis. Meier is the chair of the Central Region for women's soccer. Meier has also been asked to serve on the CoSIDA Division II  (College Sports Information Directors of America) board of directors.

Before joining the league in April 2006, Meier spent four years as the Sports Information Director at Fort Lewis College (Durango, Colo.) from 2002-06.

Meier received her Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications from St. Cloud State University (Minn.) in 2000, where she was a four year letterwinner on the women's basketball team. She went on to earn her Master of Science degree in Sports Administration from SCSU in 2002.
