Longtime Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference rivals, Chadron State College and the University of Nebraska-Kearney, will meet on the gridiron when “Chadron State vs. UNK Football” airs Saturday, Oct. 8, at noon CT on NET1 and NET-HD.
Telecast live from the Lopers’ Cope Stadium, the football game marks the last contest between the two Division II in-state rivals before the Lopers leave the RMAC for the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association.
“This is potentially the last football game played between the two schools and so I’m excited this game and rivalry is getting the exposure it deserves,” Chadron State athletic director Brad Smith said.
Sportscaster Larry Punteney will provide play-by-play, with John Bishop offering color analysis. Seth Denney will provide sideline reports.
The football game will also be webcast live in Flash on NET’s website (netNebraska.org). Webcasting of the series is a free service of NET.
“Chadron State vs. UNK Football” is a production of NET Sports, Nebraska’s Home for Sports, for broadcast on NET Television. NET1 and NET-HD are part of NET Television, a service of NET. For a complete program schedule, visit NET’s website (netNebraska.org/television).
