FootballRMAC Football Game to be Televised NationallyColorado Springs, Colo. -- July 12, 2007 -- The University of Nebraska-Kearney will play Chadron State College Thursday, October 18th at 7 p.m. CST at Foster Field in Kearney, Neb., before a live national audience. The game will be televised by CSTV (available in 22 million households), Altitude Sports and Entertainment (available in 5.5 million households) and NET (Nebraska Television), which covers all of Nebraska, portions of Colorado, Iowa, Kansas and South Dakota. This is the most television exposure for a live RMAC contest in the history of the league. "We are extremely excited that the NCAA is producing one of our games for the entire nation to see," said Commissioner J.R. Smith. "This will be a great opportunity for thousands of fans around the country to see what RMAC football is all about." NCAA Productions is producing four Division II regular season football games this year that will air on CSTV and various regional sports networks. The CSC vs UNK game time was changed from Saturday afternoon to Thursday night to ensure it's broadcast around the country. The matchup between Nebraska-Kearney and Chadron State features the top two ranked teams in the RMAC, according the the Preseason Coach's Poll (CSC is one, with UNK two). Chadron State also returns Danny Woodhead, the 2006 Harlon Hill Award winner as the top player in NCAA Division II football. Woodhead rushed for more than 2,700 yards, which is an NCAA all-divison record. Woodhead is also a little more than 600 yards away from becoming the all-time leading rusher in NCAA Division II history. The NCAA will also produce three RMAC football games to be available via the internet. That schedule is due out later this month. --Rocky Mountain Athletic
