2011 NCAA Baseball Central Region Selections
Mesa State, Nebraska-Kearney Selected to NCAA Baseball Tournament
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Two Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference teams were selected to the 2011 NCAA Baseball Central Region Tournament that will be hosted by St. Cloud State May 19-22.
Mesa State College (33-19) received an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament after winning the RMAC Tournament Championship. The Mavericks enter the tournament as the No. 2 seed and will face fifth seed Winona State (35-16). Nebraska-Kearney (35-17), which won the RMAC regular season championship, received the fourth seed and will face third seed Minnesota State-Mankato (39-10).
Top seed St. Cloud State will face sixth seed Augustana to round out the six-team, double elimination tournament. The winner from the Central Region tournament will head to the NCAA Championship Tournament in Cary, N.C. May 28-June 4.
