The men’s tennis team lost in some close matches against the University of Hawaii – Hilo on Thursday. The Mustangs fell, 7-2.
In doubles action, Valu Fa (Suva, Fiji) and Luke Salazar (Albuquerque, NM) defeated HHU’s Tada and Royalty, 8-5.
Fa almost pulled out another win in singles, but lost in the tie-breaker, 7-6 (8-6), 6-2.
Salazar was able to win his tie-breaker, though, over Mikulasek in singles, 4-6, 6-4, (10-7).
"The men had a good match, but we just haven't turned the corner on our doubles play yet. Our momentum into the singles play is a little to slow, but several matches were very close. We are improving quite well despite the team score,” says head coach Erik Burton.
