ERIC DANNER
Assistant Commissioner Eric Danner is in his seventh year with the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. He originally joined the staff on a full-time basis as Media Relations Director in July 2005. He was promoted to Assistant Commissioner in January of 2006.
Danner oversees all RMAC broadcasting. This includes hosting and producing, the "RMAC Showcase" a monthly television program that airs on the Altitude Sports & Entertainment Network, which is available in 6.5 million households nationwide. The show also airs weekly on "My KKTV" in Colorado Springs/Pueblo and KSPK in Walsenburg/Trinidad.
In addition, Danner serves as co-producer of the RMAC Shootout basketball championships which air live on Altitude 2. He was also co-producer of the "RMAC Football Game of the Week" in 2008 and 2009.
Danner is the host and producer of "The RMAC Radio Show" a weekly radio program available on the RMAC Sports Network between August and March. In January 2011, Danner helped launch a video version of the RMAC Radio Show available on the Altitude and RMAC websites.
In June of 2010, Danner started up the RMAC You Tube page which received more than 40,000 hits in its first six months, the most of any conference in NCAA Division II. He is the primary liaison for the RMAC with the America One Network, which web streams all conference football, volleyball and basketball games.
Danner is in charge of producing handbooks for 19 RMAC championship events. He is also the liaison between the conference office and head coaches in men's soccer, wrestling, men's and women's swimming & diving and men's and women's golf.
The RMAC's awards program is also directed by Danner. The RMAC is currently the only NCAA Division II conference in the nation that provides preseason awards for all sports. Danner coordinates coaches voting for post season all-conference teams and collects data for the all-academic teams.
Since 2005, Danner has produced the RMAC Hall of Fame and Awards ceremony. This includes coordinating video production and serving as liaison for the recipients. During was also responsible for putting together the All-Time Teams at the RMAC Centennial Celebration in 2009.
Prior to joining the RMAC, Danner was the Sports Director at KXRM Fox 21 News in Colorado Springs/Pueblo where he was named "Best Sportscaster" by the Colorado Springs Gazette. Danner was also co-host of "Double Coverage Sports" on CBS affiliate KKTV. Danner twice earned "Best Sports Story" from the Associated Press. From 1996-2000, he was a news reporter and photographer for NBC affiliate KOAA in Colorado Springs/Pueblo. His first professional broadcasting job was at KGWN CBS 5 in Cheyenne, Wyo.
A 1994 graduate of Metropolitan State College of Denver, Danner and his wife, reside in Falcon, Colo. and are the proud parents of a 7-year-old daughter.
