Pack Women's Soccer Earns NSCAA Team Academic Award
by Anthony Sandstrom, CSU-Pueblo Sports Information Director
PUEBLO, Colo - The CSU-Pueblo women's soccer
team was recognized today by the National Soccer Coaches
Association of America for their performance in the classroom with
the NSCAA's College Team Academic Award. With a 3.22 team GPA, and
a 14-6-1 overall record, the ThunderWolves excelled both on the
field and in the classroom during the 2007 season. Team recognition
at the national level follows the RMAC's recognition of five
ThunderWolves as RMAC Scholar-Athletes this fall, including Rikki
Warmack, the RMAC Soccer Scholar-Athlete of the Year .
Coach Morris commented, "Academic and athletic success go hand in
hand. The drive and dedication that lead to success in the
classroom also bring success on the soccer field. This is a great
honor for a tremendous group of young women, they have certainly
put in a great deal of effort and it's really nice to see that
recognized."
