Chadron State College

Chadron State College, now in its 98th year, uses the motto "Building Futures Every Day" because it continues to help men and women have successful careers and lives.

Chadron State is located in the scenic Pine Ridge of northwest Nebraska, where outdoor recreational opportunities abound. "Outside Magazine" selected Dawes County, where Chadron is located, as one of the nation's top 100 counties in which to live. The Lindeken clock tower, shown below, is centrally located on the campus in front of the Student Center.

The region possesses some of the best ranchland in the world.

Chadron is a community of about 6,000 located on two major highways. With impetus from the college, it offers many cultural opportunities.

Chadron State is the only four-year, fully-accredited college in the western half of Nebraska. The college offers an array of degrees, many pre-professional programs as well as courses leading to master's and specialist's in education degrees. CSC also offers master of business administration and organizational management degrees. It has an outstanding interactive distance learning network that delivers courses throughout its extensive service area and has made many courses available on the Internet.

With more than 70 clubs on campus, students may participate in many extracurricular activities. Since its founding, Chadron State has fielded competitive athletic teams. Eagles have earned more than 200 All-American and special scholar-athlete honors since 1990 when the college joined the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

In addition, CSC has an outstanding rodeo team. It also has an active fine arts program and is the home of the Mari Sandoz High Plains Heritage Center.
