Athletic Accomplishments:
Led the RMAC in rebounding during each of his four season.
A three-time First Team All-RMAC selection (soph.-senior). A
four-time NAIA All-District 7 selection. Ranked first in Regis
record book in: career rebounds (1451), single season rebounds (447
in 1973-74), in single game rebounds (33 in 1973-74), single season
rebounding avg. (14.8), in single season FGA (476 in 1973-74).
Selected as Regis' Athlete of the Year in 1975-76. Competed on the
Regis track and field team as a freshman. Listed among "Outstanding
Athletes of America" from 1974-76. Had professional tryouts with
the Denver Nuggets and Seattle Seahawks. Finished 7th,
4th, 2nd, and 2nd in the RMAC in
scoring, respectively, during his career at Regis. Inducted into
the Regis Univ. Athletic Hall of Fame in 1998.
Academic Accomplishments:
Qualified for Academic All-RMAC recognition in 1973.
Qualified for the Dean's List every semester at Regis.
Civic Activities:
Earned his Masters Degree in Education (Administration)
from Colorado State University in 1997. 2004-05 marks his
29th year teaching in the Jefferson County school
system. DuCros has taught at four Denver-area schools (Oberon Jr.
High, Golden H.S., Arvada H.S., Jefferson H.S.). Earned an
"Outstanding Teachers of America" award in 1978. Earned a 20-year
service award from Arvada H.S. Twice listed in "Who's Who Among
American H.S. Teachers." Has served as a head coach in girl's
basketball, volleyball, and tennis at the high school level. Has
served as an assistant coach in wrestling and boy's basketball at
the high school level.
