RMAC Hall of FameJay JeffersonFor over 28 years, Jefferson served in many capacities at Mesa
State College. He was the director of housing, director of the
college center, and, finally, director of athletics, a position he
held from 1980-92. He was chosen as President of the RMAC Athletic
Director's Council in 1985 and was President of the NAIA Region VII
in 1986. In 1989, he was selected the NAIA Administrator of the
Year. During his tenure as athletic director, Mesa State won 35
RMAC Championships. He is a graduate of Adams State College, where
he earned his bachelor's degree (1958) and master's degree (1962).
As a member of the football team, he was named All-RMAC twice and
was selected Adams State's Most Outstanding Athlete in 1956. He was
inducted into the Mesa State College Athletic Hall of Fame in 2002.
