Employment OpportunitiesRocky Mountain Athletic Conference Television and Radio Production InternshipThe Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC), a premier NCAA Division II athletic conference headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colo., is seeking an individual to serve as an assistant in television and radio production. This is a 10-month position from August 2008, through May 2009. The successful candidate will assist the RMAC Assistant Commissioner for Communications in all facets of producing the monthly television program "The RMAC Showcase" and the weekly radio show "This Week in the RMAC." Responsibilities will include: editing and archiving video; assisting in writing of both the "RMAC Showcase" and "This Week in the RMAC;" plus updating the conference's web site (www.rmacsports.org) as well as a variety of other assigned duties. The ideal candidate will have experience in editing (Final Cut Pro, Final Cut Studio 2) and shooting video with a Canon XL2, GL1 or similar camera. Candidates should possess excellent communication and writing skills, strong organizational ability, an understanding of NCAA rules and regulations and should be considering a career in television or radio. The applicant must be willing to travel as needed. The media assistant should be working toward a bachelor's or master's degree in communications, public relations, broadcasting or a related field. Ideally, this individual would be a senior in college or a graduate student. Previous experience in a collegiate media relations environment is preferred. A stipend and tuition ($8,000 total or $4,000 per semester) for the 10-month position may be available upon qualifications. If the intern is not working toward a degree, there may be a $4,000 stipend available ($2,000 per semester).
