Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Internal Operations Internship

                The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC), a premier NCAA Division II athletic conference headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colo., is seeking an individual to serve as an assistant in its internal operations office. This is a 10-month position from August 2008, through May 2009.

                The successful candidate will assist the RMAC Assistant Commissioner in all facets of RMAC internal operations. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: NCAA rules compliance and interpretations, National Letter of Intent program, Medical Hardships, RMAC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), RMAC Officials web-site, RMAC Championships and other daily tasks as assigned.

Candidates should possess excellent communication and writing skills as well as strong organizational ability. They should be proficient in Microsoft Office as well as familiar with web-based programming.  They should also have a willingness to develop a thorough understanding of NCAA rules and regulations. 

                The internal operations assistant should be working toward a bachelor's or master's degree in sports management or a related field. Ideally, this individual would be a senior in college or a graduate student.

                A stipend and tuition ($8,000 total or $4,000 per semester) for the 10-month position may be available upon qualifications.  If the intern is not working toward a degree, there may be a $4,000 stipend available ($2,000 per semester).
